YouthMAX Curriculum Lesson III
DEVELOPING A POSITIVE SELF-IMAGE
Of the four lessons covered in the YouthMAX curriculum, learning to develop a positive self-image is the most critical because it is integral to all the other lessons – to our development of Personal Character, to how we handle individuals and complex relationships (Stand Up and Be Counted), and to how we handle all the bumps in the road (Learning to Fail Forward). Self-image becomes the greatest determining factor to our success in life.
By the end of the workshop, participants will identify self-image as the lid to success. These key lessons are demonstrated:
- We are not defined by what others think of us.
- No limitation, environment or situation defines your level of success.
- Everyone must live to be their true self.
And these leadership values:
- Positive self-image
Learn and apply key ways to develop and maintain a positive self-image.
The greatest separator between successful and unsuccessful people throughout any stage of life is how they perceive themselves.
Most successful people have a positive self-image. While some of that attitude comes from succeeding, it is impossible to even begin moving toward success unless you believe in yourself enough go after your goals and dreams while learning to fail forward.
Developing a Positive Self-Image teaches both the value of confidence and practical ways to develop and maintain a positive self-image.
