In this lesson, youth learn about the importance of believing in themselves and how having positive self-esteem determines their success.
Leaning Goal. Gifts aren’t worth much until they are used. Youth will learn from the acronym YOU. You are important. Only you can be you. Understand who you are.
Learning Objective: Realizing and appreciating who we are, opens the door to opportunity and leads individuals to success. This lesson helps youth to (a) identify talents and skills, (b) describe how to use their gifts, and (c) develop an attitude of gratitude, (d) be positive, and (e) love themselves.
Leadership Values. Three leadership values are reinforced in the workshops—self-belief, positive self-image, and using gifts to add value to others.
Your True Strength Leadership Lesson: Identify, Know and Use Your Strengths
In this lesson, youth learn about the value of being their true selves and how choosing to live an authentic life will lead them to a life filled with success and purpose.
Learning Goal. In this workshop youth learn the value of being their true selves and how choosing to live an authentic life will lead them to a life filled with success and purpose.
Learning Objectives. By the end of the workshop youth will be able to explain that (a) we are not defined by what people think of us; (b) no limitation, environment nor situation defines your level of success;and (c) everyone must learn to live to be their true self.

Failure Is Important to Success Leadership Lesson: Overcoming Failure
In this lesson, youth learn about the value of failure on the journey to success and the importance of getting back up.
Leaning Goal. Through the personal success stories of famous athletes, entrepreneurs, historical figures, educators, and authors, youth will discuss and identify ways successful people overcome difficult and/or overwhelming odds. Participants will consider the impact of self-belief and self-doubt on success. They will also consider what challenges or barriers that they are allowing to keep them from achieving their goals.
Learning Objective. By the end o the workshop youth will be able to explain that (a) everyone fails but no one enjoys failing, (b) failure is essential to success, and (c) no one can succeed if they never believe in themselves.
Leadership Values. Four leadership values are reinforced throughout the workshop—handling failure, overcoming odds, self-belief, and solving problems.
The Kind Connection Leadership Lesson: Helping and Adding Value to Others
Connecting to peers is more than just talking, texting, liking social media statuses, and responding to Snapchats. Connecting to peers is about showing compassion and kindness to people without expecting anything in return. The kind connection is about bringing the golden rule to life. In this lesson, youth will learn about the importance of adding value to others.
Learning Goal: Kindness means showing compassion and care. Something that can be so simple, but we often forget to show it to each other. Kindness is not something that costs anything, yet it adds so much value to the person receiving it as well as the person giving it.
Learning Objective: Through this lesson, students will be able to describe how (a) to lift up others, (b) add value to others, and (c) each day, be kind to others.

5 Steps of Success Leadership Lesson: Daily Success and Growth Habits
In this lesson, the 5 important strategies for success are reviewed. These strategies, when used daily, lead to positive, successful experiences. Youth will learn key points to help them maximize their ability.
Learning Goal. John Maxwell says, “You will never change your life, until you change something you do daily. The secret to your success is found in your daily routine.” The things that we do daily, the actions that we take daily, influence us and determine if and when we reach our goals.
Learning Objective. By the end of the workshop youth will be able to discuss the importance of (a) visualizing the future, (b) setting goals, (c) giving thanks, (d) serving others, and (e) centering their spirit.
